Rom 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
Rom 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Rom 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
Throughout the Word of God, we see references to ‘times and ages’ as “the day,” or “days.” But as we see in the verses above, there is a particular “time” that we also ought not to be ignorant of either, and this ‘time’ is called “the night.” Paul says, “and knowing the time,” Paul knows that it is vital that these Saints view the “time” like God does. God views this present world as being in a climactic stage of ungodliness, this world has reached an ungodly ‘boiling point’ in His sight. And failure to ‘know’ the time, and its ungodly nature, will cause the Saints to continue conformity to this world, with its ways, and they will continue to operate upon, and remain ignorant of the “darkness” of this world.
2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Furthermore, Satan is the power of darkness; there are the “works” of darkness, but Satan is the power behind the darkness, he wants you to cooperate with him, and do nothing at all about the power of darkness, he wants you to willingly give yourselves over to the power of darkness. And it is our understanding of these “perilous times,” and its evil nature, and how our Father views these days as the “darkness,” will begin our ‘mind renewing’ education in our Father’s “Day.” Darkness over a period of time becomes ‘night,’ and Satan’s ages of darkness is viewed as Paul says, “the night is far spent.” And we too ought to view this “world of the ungodly,” and the darkness of this “night” in its “far spent” status as well. And those “last days,” and “latter times,” are the night, and are affected by the darkness of this ungodly world.
1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
However, just as darkness over a period of time becomes the night, light over a period of time becomes the “day.” And as Paul says in Romans 13, “let us walk honestly as in the day,” our ‘walk’ as sons/daughters should be according to the Light of the knowledge of our Fathers Word. And our walk in this Light over a period of time will have the faithful walking “honestly as in the day.” Our Father’s Light is designed to expose this ungodly world and its darkness, and what Satan wants to achieve is to turn God’s Light into darkness in the minds of this world. The “doctrines of devils” of this world gives a counterfeit ‘doctrine,’ ‘faith,’ and “form of godliness,” that this world ‘buys into’ as the ‘light.’ We are exhorted to “put on the Armor of Light,” and in Romans 13:14 says, “but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” The Lord Jesus is called “the Word,” and “the Light,” so it seems befitting why we are taught to “put on” the Armor of Light, and the Lord Jesus Christ to combat the night of this world.
Joh 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
Joh 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
And it is our being “conformed to the Image of His Son” that Satan and this world fears because Satan fears the Power of Christ, he saw it ‘firsthand,’ he also saw the Power of Christ working through the Apostles. And they too prevailed against him, we too need to see the Power of Christ, and the Light of His knowledge to us. And in our ‘times,’ we too can prevail against the darkness of this world, and it is by ‘putting on’ the Lord Jesus, being conformed to His Son, putting on the “Armor of Light,” and “the new man,” and the “whole Armor,” and as Christ prevailed; we through His Power and Image will prevail, and glorify Christ through His Word. Therefore, Satan desires to “blind the minds” of them to this “Light,” because of its “Power,” and the Saint operating upon this, defeats his power, and his “night” has no effect upon him.
Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Php 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
Php 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Therefore, putting on the Lord Jesus Christ is taught by our Father to them who are “strong” in the faith. Notice in the next verse (in the next chapter), Paul speaks to them who are “strong;” he says, “him that is weak in the faith receive ye.” The Armor of Light in Romans 13 is the first component to putting on the “whole armor.” Our fight isn’t against the men of this world from a personal standpoint, but it is being as our Father’s “lights” in the world of darkness, and even though this “night” is going on around us, we are to “shine” as His lights “in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation” as we are walking in our Father’s “Day.” We ought to possess the same type of hatred for the things that affect the hearts of man, we need our Father’s own heart toward these things, not to just have His thinking toward these things, but His attitude toward this world. And shining as His lights ‘brings to light’ Satan’s darkness, and exposes “the night” as Satan’s “course of this world,” and also the “course” that he desires that the Saints will “walk” in, knowing the threat that those who “put on the Lord Jesus” are unto him, because they are now in the ‘likeness’ of the “One” who has “victory” over him, and has put him, and his plan to nothing.
Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Finally, notice in the verses below Satan’s “night,” he is the “god” of the ‘night of the world.’ And Ephesians chapter 2, and the verses below show not only his effect on the world, but that it is under his power. But we have victory “with Christ” when we “put on” this Power, and “Light,” but we HAVE TO BELIEVE this Power will work for us, and notice what this Power looks like: “the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.” The “Image of God” frightens Satan, and we too can operate upon this Light, and adorn His Image by putting on the Word. And in verse 6 below, notice the Power of God OVER darkness being taught, this type of “Power” can be utilized by the faithful Saints who desire to adorn Christ’s Identity. This “Treasure” is ours to combat this world’s “night,” but we must first understand, and perceive that we are living in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, and that the night is in a “far spent” status. And we must also know that our Father has provided us the “Image of His Son” to put on, and He is “the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the FACE of Jesus Christ.”
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2Co 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
2Co 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
