Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
One of the most important aspects of our lives as “sons” is operating upon the Word of God, and the glorifying of our Lord and Savior, and of our Father’s Word by us. But there is “exceeding greatness” of His Power that our Father does not want us to be ignorant of either, and not just that we know that there is an “exceeding greatness” to His Power, but that He has a desire that we too operate upon the exceeding greatness of this Power. Notice Paul says, “to us-ward,” and then he says “according to the working of His Mighty Power.” The Apostle Paul compares the Father’s Power to “us-ward” to the Power which “He wrought in Christ,” and in the moment in time “when he raised Him from the dead.” But not just that Power, but when He “set Him at His own right hand in heavenly places.” But not just that Power, but “far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.” We can operate upon this exceeding Greatness of His Power” as well.
2Co 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Moreover, we have the opportunity to put the exceeding greatness of His power on display, and notice what Paul says in 2nd Corinthians 4:6, “God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts.” Again, we see Paul using another ‘Powerful’ moment in time when God commanded the light to shine out of darkness in the beginning of creation. Paul is not saying that we will be able to perform those Powerful things, but what he is saying is that in the sight of the Father, this “calling” to us-ward brings forth the glory unto Him as He received in those Powerful times. Our Father was well pleased in those times, and He gloried with the Lord, and He desires to glory in us as well. We just have to understand the exceeding greatness of this Power to us-ward who “believe” this powerful truth for us.
Col 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Col 1:11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Therefore, we see Paul teach about the exceeding greatness of His Power to us right before he talks about “the prince of the power of the air.” We are taught about the exceeding greatness of our Father’s Power to us-ward to understand the mechanics of the ‘working’ of these two ‘powers’ within the man today. And as Ephesians 2:2 says, “the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience,” is “of” the prince of the power of the air. The men of this world by nature operate upon this power, it is their way of life, it is also Satan’s power to us-ward, if we allow ourselves to continue to be conformed to this world. but this will only produce fruit unto death, and glory unto us and Satan when we follow his “course of this world.” And we ought to know as the faithful in Christ, what is the “hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,” His Power is designed to work in us, and when we allow His word to “work effectually within us,” the glory in His eyes is comparable to the glory that He received, and that He rejoiced in when He accomplished all those things mentioned earlier.
Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Rom 16:19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
Rom 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
Finally, when we operate upon Satan’s “course,” Satan speaks reproachfully, and gets the vainglory that he seeks. The “exceeding greatness of His Power” is designed to “bruise Satan under” our feet as we see in Romans 16:20, but this is when we who are “strong” in the faith are “wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.” We must be “wise” unto our Father’s Powerful Word, and “good,” and walk in His Light, not in the power of the darkness of this world. The “exceeding greatness of His Power to us-ward who believe” is the “whole Armour of God,” and our Father rejoices when we “put on” His Word and walk in His Love and will. But Satan hates, and fears when we “know what is the hope of His calling,” and this is because Satan fears the Great Power of God, and he knows those who “put on the whole Armour of God” will “be able to stand against” him, and shew forth victory, and glory unto our Father as we “wrestle” against Satan’s darkness.
Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
