Rom.1:7] To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Rom.16:19] For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
[20] And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
In all of Paul’s 13 epistles he begins each epistle by saying peace from God the father and our Lord Jesus Christ. There are many meanings for the word peace, we today use that word to refer to those who are not experiencing a noisy environment, or an environment that is uncomfortable, or troublesome onto us, or even in times of war. But our Father has provided salvation, and peace from things that we could not, nor could this world provide for us in our circumstances. And as we can see in the verses below in Romans chapter 5 we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. This type of peace is the opposite of wrath of God, and our being justified by faith alone gives us the peace and salvation from the wrath of God because of the sin of Adam no longer applies to us, because of our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and we ‘rest’ in this “hope” that is now ours through Him.
Rom.5:1] Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Furthermore, there are other types of peace that we are given by the God of peace Himself. But to know Him as the God of all peace, we need to understand how His word actually works effectually for us in our times where we need the doctrine of the God of all peace. We are given peace, comfort, and salvation from the things we experience in our lives through God’s word, this is where we are taught about the “fruit of the spirit,” it is the living word of the living God living within us, and producing the “fruit” that we operate upon when we need the God of peace to comfort us by His word. And notice in Romans 16, Paul say, “and the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly,” it is the word of the God of peace that the strong in the faith uses to strengthen him in his sufferings, and he would use the doctrine to comfort him and that will bring forth the comfort, and salvation, and godly peace within the inner man of the Saint.
John 14:27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Moreover, as we can see in John chapter 14 the Lord says that this world gives their version of peace, but this world’s peace cannot be compared to the peace of God that is provided for us by His word. And each one of Paul’s epistles are addressed to the Saint who is going to endure the tribulation of this world, the sufferings of this world for Christ’s sake, and the temptation by the bad doctrine, and by works of darkness of this world. God’s word is designed to give us peace from all these things, and the God of peace knows that His word will work effectually for us. And when we allow his word to work effectually for us it produces the fruit of the spirit that we will operate upon, and notice in the verses below, these things are all benefits being produced by His word when we need Him as the “God of all peace.”
Gal.5:22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
[24] And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Finally, knowing God as the God of all peace is vital for the Saint to operate upon the fruit of the spirit. And this is because the works of the flesh will continue and have no rest so to speak because we have not “crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” And we could walk according to all the things mentioned in the verses below, and be given unto them, and allow ourselves to be under it’s ‘dominion’ and eventually, all those things will cause the “temptation,” the “sufferings of this present time,” and bringing forth “fruit unto death” in His sight knowing God’s will toward these things.
Gal.5:19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
