Rom.12:1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Our Father’s Word, will, and love is perfect, and with that being said, He would have His Saints walking in the doctrine of His “perfection.” And by walking in the doctrine of perfection, we are being “perfect.” And because man uses the word and definition of ‘perfection,’ or ‘perfect’ as a unattainable measure for man to reach, it is looked upon by man that walking in sanctified perfection in God’s sight means that your sanctified life must be a complete ‘sinless walk’ throughout our lives. And it is God’s desire that we would walk without sin as Saints that are justified unto eternal life and are in Christ, He has provided for us the daily renewing doctrine of the “doctrine which is according to godliness.” And it is by His Holy Word that our minds are “renewed day by day,” and our hearts be “enlarged” unto the perfect will and life of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Eph.4:12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
[13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Gen.17:1] And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Therefore, the “perfecting of the saints” is done by the Holy Word of God, and as the Saints walk in the perfecting doctrine, they are “perfect” in our Father’s sight, and being “conformed to the image of His Son,” a “Perfect Man.” And throughout God’s Word, we see faithful justified Saints and servants of God walk in the Doctrine of sanctification unto holiness. And their life was not always ‘sin free,’ and our Father has made provision for us in His Word. And this is why we see the doctrine teaching us to “be led by the Spirit,” and that we “cast off the works of darkness” and “put on the armour of light,” and that we can “put on the new man,” and that we will be able to “reprove” those things which are after this world. And this is why Paul warns the Saints in Colossians 1:28 when he says, “Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.”
1st Kings11:3] And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
[4] For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
Moreover, as we see in the verses above, Solomon’s heart was “turned away,” and “not perfect with the LORD.” But it did not remain this way, when Solomon walked “with the LORD,” and after the heart of David his father, he was “perfect with the LORD.” And being perfect is done by walking with a Spiritual renewed mind, and being a Living Sacrifice, and then we will be able to “prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God” each day. Because as we are taught in 2nd Corinthians 4:16: “for which cause, we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” Our Father has provided for us His effectual working Word to ‘be there’ for us when our walk is not according to His will. And whether we just began to be sanctified by His Word after we became saved, or if we have been saved for years, and have been operating upon the Spiritual mind, His Word is designed to renew the minds and hearts of the Saints, just as it was with Solomon, and many other Saints throughout time in God’s word of Truth.
1st Cor.2:5] That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
[6] Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
Finally, being perfect, and “proving” what is the perfect will of God can be done daily, and our “perfection” is our is a ‘position’ as Saints based upon the “work” that the Holy Word has begun to do in us. And our Father’s Word will continue a work within us as we continue to live unto Him in the doctrine which is according to godliness. And as Philippians 1:6 says, “being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” It is by the Word of God that we are renewed day by day. And our operating upon the doctrine of our Father’s “perfect” Word is designed so that we be “no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine.” And the doctrine of the “perfect man,” changes the way we ‘think,’ and the way we ‘live,’ and the way we will now spend our time and labor “day by day.” And it is each day that we have been given the provision by our Father to walk unto Him and “prove” what is the perfect will of God as a perfect man, and no longer be conformed to this world, but be “conformed to the Image of His Son.”
Phil.2:13] For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
2nd Cor.13:9] For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
[10] Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.
[11] Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
