1st Cor.2:4] And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
[5] That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
[6] Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
The Apostle Paul teaches the Saints within 1st Corinthians chapter 1, 2, and 3 about two different types of doctrine. Doctrine itself consists of a wisdom or knowledge that changes how someone will now think, and how they will now live, and how they will spend their time laboring With the doctrine. Satan has devised a plan that man would follow after the course of this world, and that he would be then conformed to this world. And this is accomplished by the “wisdom of men,” and his heart, which produces the “spirit of man” in which he will now teach this doctrine unto other men. But are given the “doctrine which is according to godliness” to “walk in,” and be “led” by. And the fact is, our Father has provided for us the doctrine which is according to godliness because there is a doctrine which according to “ungodliness.” And this is the case as we see in the book of Jude, verse 15: “all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”
1st Cor.2:9] But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
[10] But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
[11] For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Moreover, it is the heart of man, and the mind of man that are taken captive by Satan’s wiles and devices. But as we see, the heart of man and his mind that ought to be after godliness. And the man ought to have a renewed mind and a “enlarged heart,” which is a Spiritual mind, which is after the “mind of Christ,” and an enlarged heart of selfless love, and to be ‘a man after God’s own heart.’ And those who love God with a selfless heart, and have a Spiritual mind, they are ‘Spiritually able’ to ‘know the things of God.” But the “natural man” cannot “receive” the things of God, because he doesn’t “know them.” And it has ‘neither entered into the heart of man’ those things either. And this is because the things of God are ALL Spiritual, and they concern our inward man ONLY. The things that are of God will not please the flesh of man, but it could cause suffering, and the things of God changes the way we think about the things that we love of this world, this is difficult to fathom for those who are conformed to this world.
1st Cor.2:12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
[13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
Furthermore, as we see in the verses above, “man’s wisdom teacheth,” and the “Holy Ghost teacheth.” But the Apostle Paul ‘speaks’ by the doctrine of the Holy Ghost, this is the “faith” that he preaches unto the Church. And the man teaches his wisdom unto the world, and desires that man would walk after, and teach his life unto others. And our Father wants us to ‘know’ what it means to “stand,” before we are beseeched to “stand therefore” in the faith. And we are taught in 1st Corinthians chapter 2 that it is our Father’s “Power” that our faith ought to stand in. And with the Spiritual mind (having the mind of Christ), and the selfless love of Christ, the Saints who walk in this ‘life’ will walk as the “faithful” in Christ. And the faithful Saints in Christ are those who are allowing their faith to stand in the wisdom and power of God. And knowing that by ‘standing’ in His Word, His Love, and His Power, there will also be a necessity to “withstand” the attack by the “works of darkness,” and the “prince of the power of the air.” And what it means to ‘stand,’ is not just being in a ‘upright position,’ but that you are ‘firmly put’ in one unmovable position. And as one who is able to stand and also able to withstand any, and all that may come against us.
1st Cor.2:14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
[15] But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
[16] For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Eph.6:10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Finally, standing by our faith “in the faith” is accomplished by the saint knowing what the will of the Lord is, and operating upon the Spiritual mind, and having the selfless heart taught unto us by His word. And walking in the doctrine of our Father’s “faith,” we should not be “moved,” or “depart from the faith,” but “stand fast in the faith.” And this does not mean that the saint could “depart” from being justified unto eternal life, or have their salvation from the debt and penalty of sin “overthrown.” But this is AFTER they become saved, they are beseeched in Romans chapter 6 to live unto God in sanctification unto holiness, and by His Word, serve Him. This ‘service’ in our sanctification is after “godliness,” and this is the “faith” that we are given by our Father to walk according to. And just as God desired that man be in His image, and after His likeness, we are taught that this is how we too ought to walk and serve Him as sons who are ‘”faithful,” in the faith. But unfortunately, there are some saints who will not walk according to the faith, and could ‘leave’ the faith, the could follow after Satan’s devices. But it is our Father’s Word that reproves, and corrects us, and by which we can renew our minds from out faith standing in the wisdom of men, but in the power and Word, and Selfless Love of God.
1st Tim.1:19] Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
1st Tim.2:15] Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
1st Tim.3:9] Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
1st Tim.4:1] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1st Tim.5:8] But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
1st Tim.6:10] For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
