Study Tools With Practical Study Ideas

A study option to consider when approaching your Bible is regularly ‘asking yourself application questions.’ These will help you to practically live the doctrine and verses you are reading or learning. In the Word itself, God shows us many ways to look at and study the Scriptures, however, for a quick list of ideas for your personal study time, check out “Exploring the Bible Using Study Tools,” on Amazon or download a PDF free on our website: Christianlifecoachsupport.squarespace.com. Below you will find categories of questions with examples, as to what you can ask yourself. Enjoy the process!

  1. Understanding: Do I understand and know how to do what God is instructing in this passage? How will I live this in my life and in decisions or with problems?
  2. Living out instructions: How well did I love others today? Was I charitable?
  3. As an ambassador: Am I clear about what this says, so I can regularly live it in my own life and then, teach it to others? Am I living this as who I am in Christ so others will be able to see Him within me?
  4. Correction: Am I humbled to see my own weaknesses in what God is teaching me? Do I need to work on a fully persuaded motivation to live this Truth? Do I know how to yield unto God in this area?
  5. Example: Do I see how Paul’s writings, such as epistles to the Corinthians and Galatians, relate to me in today’s society? How can I learn from their problems, Paul’s instructions, and how they responded? Is there one area I can adjust.
  6. Reflection: Am I growing in my ability to ask questions? Can I see the Word more clearly when I take time to think about the verses? Where am I in my understanding of this passage or doctrine?
