Q&A: “Saying None Other Things” Than The Prophets?

Question: Why Does The Apostle Paul Say That He Is Say “None Other Things Than Those Which The Prophets And Moses Did Say Should Come?” And What Did The Prophets ‘Say?’

Act 26:22  Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

Acts 26:22 is not a contradiction of what was spoken in the scripture concerning Paul being the apostle of the Gentiles, nor should we wonder why Peter gave a Gentile (Cornelius) the gospel of justification unto eternal life in Acts chapter 10. But not just unto Cornelius, but as we see in first Corinthians, Paul gave unto some of them the gospel of justification unto eternal life as well. And as Paul says in first Corinthians chapter 15:11, “whether it was I, or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.” But believed what? The answer is, they heard the gospel of justification unto eternal life, and they became saved from the debt and penalty of sin against them, and they were no longer in Adam, but now in Christ by faith alone in the redemptive work of Christ, and they were now saved, and justified unto eternal life. But Paul did not give unto the Jews the doctrine of sanctification unto holiness, neither did Peter give unto the Gentiles the doctrine of sanctification unto holiness. Paul preached unto the Gentiles “the mystery,” and within the gospel of the mystery is contained sanctification onto holiness, and the heavenly vocation of the Gentile Saints. And when Paul spoke unto king Agrippa, he did not give the king the mystery, but he gave him the gospel of justification unto eternal life. And this gospel was preached “since the world began,” and that was that Christ should suffer and be put to death and be raised again the third day, this is what all the prophets preached “since the world began.” And this is how God has always justified the man since Adam, and that was by faith in the Redeemer, and faith in what the Prophets preached of the Redeemer justified the man, and “deeds of the law” was given to sanctify the Jew unto holiness.

Act 26:22  Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

Act 26:23  That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

Moreover, Paul ‘witnessed’ to the unsaved Jew “first,” then he went unto the unsaved Gentile, and this gospel that Paul preached was the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ as we see Paul say in verse 23, and we see that Peter also confirms in Acts chapter 3 for instance. The death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord was not a “mystery,” this gospel for salvation from the penalty of sin against man was preached since the beginning of the world. This is what Paul calls “the Law of faith,” which is the ‘way’ God has always justified man, and that His ‘Justice’ will only ‘accept’ perfect righteousness; that is Christ’s righteousness for the sin of Adam in His sight. And just as 1st Corinthians 15 says, the death, burial, and the resurrection of the Lord is manifested unto all “according to the scriptures.” The Lord Jesus Christ also preached the death, burial, and the resurrection throughout His ministry unto the “lost sheep of Israel.”

Mat 16:21  From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

Mat 17:22  And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:

Mat 17:23  And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.

Mat 20:18  Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,

Mat 20:19  And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

And also after His resurrection He “opened” their understanding concerning His resurrection, they “believed on Him” (John 2:11) concerning that He was the Redeemer, and their Savior, their ‘unbelief’ was about the resurrection of the dead. And after His death, they “remembered that He had said this unto them; and THEY BELIEVED THE SCRIPTURE.”

Joh 2:19  Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Joh 2:20  Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

Joh 2:21  But he spake of the temple of his body.

Joh 2:22  When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

Luk 24:44  And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Luk 24:45  Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

Luk 24:46  And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

Joh 20:8  Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

Joh 20:9  For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

Furthermore, the Apostles were “Witnesses” of the death, burial, and the resurrection of the Lord, and they also preached this gospel unto the unsaved Jew after the Lord’s death. And they also gave witness of David and Joel, and all the Prophets who also believed by faith alone, in the Redeemer alone. Stephen in Acts 10, and Paul in Acts preached unto Israel the death, burial, and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and each time they gave “witness,” they referred back to the Old Testament to confirm what all the Prophets have Prophesied “since the world began.” Again, this was not “the mystery” reveled unto Paul, that gospel “was kept secret,” and hid in God “since the world began. And that is that the Gentiles who were “far off,” and “without Christ,” and had “no hope,” that through Isreal’s “fall,” and not through their ‘rise,’ salvation would come unto the Gentiles, and that they could now bring forth fruit unto holiness. And that God would also reconcile the heavenly places back unto Himself, which was subjected unto “vanity” by the sin of Adam by reason of Satan.

Act 2:23  Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Act 2:24  Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

Act 2:25  For David speaketh concerning him, I FORESAW the Lord ALWAYS before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

Act 2:26  Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

Act 2:27  Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

The Apostles are bearing witness to what “David speaketh concerning Him,” which was the gospel by which he too believed by faith alone in the Redeemer Himself.

Act 2:31  He SEEING THIS BEFORE spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Act 2:32  This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Act 3:13  The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

Act 3:14  But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

Act 3:15  And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

And so, the Apostle gave unto those in Acts 26 the gospel of justification unto eternal life just as he has always done throughout his ministry. And just as the other Apostles, and Men of God, “he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.” (Acts 28:23) Paul gave unto King Agrippa the gospel of justification unto eternal life in Act 26, and we see Paul mention that if the King believed the Prophets, he should also believe what they testified concerning the Lord Jesus Christ. This is why Paul said, “King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.” And by doing this, and what Paul had done before, Paul preached unto the unsaved Jew Jesus Christ, and Him crucified “according to the scriptures.”

Act 3:18  But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

Act 3:19  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Act 3:20  And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

Act 3:21  Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
