Saints are quickened (made alive) to be a new creature, uniquely designed (II Cor. 5:17) “unto good works.” Prior to this, we were dead in sin, with a dead spirit, and separated from God. The sad destiny of unbelievers is the Great White Throne Judgment to exist eternally in this fiery lake: “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened… and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works… And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” (Rev. 20:12,14)
Once we were justified, everything changed. We are alive! One aspect was that we are now able to understand the transforming, powerful grace doctrine to live resurrection life. This is our responsibility and a moment-by-moment decision. A special feature of this dispensation is that God’s wisdom and power (the Word) is taken into our inner man to manifest His glory in these mortal bodies: “But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” (I Cor. 1:24) Ephesians teaches us about the “unsearchable riches of Christ.” This grace doctrine in us bubbles over being put on displayed in and through us. This is grace power and “the manifold wisdom of God” affecting the physical and spiritual realm. (Eph. 3:8-10)
The book of Ephesians is built upon prior Pauline doctrine, Romans-Galatians. For example: Romans 6-8 teaches us how to walk with the mind of Christ, not focused on our physical, fleshly efforts. I Corinthians teaches it is Christ working in us, by God’s power and wisdom contained within the gospel. (I Cor. 1:24) II Corinthians teaches how to endure the sufferings of Christ by relying on His grace working within: “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (II Corinthians 12:9) And then, Galatians helps us see that Christ’s mind is designed to be strategically formed in us: read, dwell, and live by yielding, letting the Spirit lead. As we grow, His mighty work is put on display in our inner man, but first it needs to be read, understood, and believed: “My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you.” (Galatians 4:19)
Think on this: So then, our spirit was quickened once we believed and we became new. As women we have the great privilege to grow spiritually to be approved of God. Continue to mature in this grace doctrine way of life, progressing in this curriculum. How can this awareness help you in your role as a woman and ambassador? How will you proceed?
