Grace Recovery, Part 3
If you keep struggling with life’s troubles, worry, stress, anxiety, anger, drugs, drinking….
The Bible has the answer to your problem.
An unsaved man is in Adam and has a dead Spirit. Therefore the soul has no choice but to look to the body or flesh to know how to function.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Because of the fall of Adam, man was born with a dead spirit. No way to communicate with the things of God.
1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
The question you need to ask yourself is “what do I REALLY stand for?” Most people have no clue what they stand for, not just lost people, even saved folks. The world will stand for the things the world tells them to stand for, which is the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
But God’s word tells us first how to study God’s word!
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
The key here is to RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF TRUTH. And the question you are going to ask is “how do I rightly divide the King James Bible?” Since the Bible is our final authority, the Bible will tell us HOW to rightly divide it. We see the three-fold division in Ephesians.
Ephesians 2:11 talks about “Times Past”
Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
Ephesians 2:13 talks about “But Now”
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2:7 talks about “Ages to Come”
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
After you rightly divide God’s word from Israel’s truth to the Body of Christ’s truth, you have to have knowledge to know what God wants you to stand for.
Once a man trusts the gospel, we learned in Romans 6 that he is removed from Adam and is placed in Christ.
Then we learned in Romans 7 the saved man is no longer under the law of Moses, but is now under Grace.
God now wants us to understand that our dead spirit has been quickened, or made alive with purpose. So our soul has a new power.
1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
What God wants us to know in Romans Chapter 8 is that we have a new POWER that is the Spirit of God who can help us discern the things of God.
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Not only does the lost man not have the ability to understand the things of God, but the unlearned saved man cannot discern the things of the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:14-15 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
Therefore, we must have the knowledge that God wants us to have to be able to stand for the things God wants us to stand for.
Ephesians 6:11-14 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
