God Likeness
Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
What God wants you to Know at this point is that you are in Christ and not in Adam.
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
We see there is only 2 Types of people in this world lost people In Adam and saved people In Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:22 As through Adam all, even the righteous, die, so through Christ all these shall be made alive.
You should know that the Pauline epistles are put together in an orderly way so that we get a full
education regarding our position in Christ and why God has done certain things on our behalf.
In Romans 12-16 we have presented to us the doctrines designed to accomplish the “renewing of
our mind” as described in Romans 12:2. This “renewing of our mind” allows us to function as
the adopted sons that we are and also enables us to accomplish the last part of verse 2; “prove
what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”
Even though many wonderful things were done for us when we were saved such as regeneration,
justification and sanctification, we were not automatically implanted with all the knowledge we
would need. Just because we are saved does not mean that we know everything regarding God’s
plan or how to live for God in the details of our lives.
1 Timothy 1:1-4
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
Godliness is the goal of edification.
Some will say Jesus came and made the Law harder.
Matthew 5:21-22
21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Matthew 5:27-28
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Matthew 5:31-32
31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
Lets see if this is a new teaching or is this what God taught all alone.
Proverbs 24:9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
It is very clear that sin starts in the soul (heart)
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
When the bible talks about the heart it is talking about the soul.
God has always cared about the thoughts of the heart (soul). When God started circumcision, it represented death to flesh. God has always wanted man to have circumcision of the Heart (soul).
Leviticus 26:41 And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
The name of the LORD
Titus 2:1-5
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
1 Tim 6:1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
2 Tim 2:19-26
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
Romans 3:23 Our sin separates us from the G of God.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Gods Glory is wrapped up in his name.
Exodus 33:18-19
18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
Moses asked God to shew him God’s glory. God tells Moses that I will proclaim the N of the LORD (Jehovah) before thee;
The name of the LORD = The glory of God.
Exodus 16:4 Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Exodus 16:27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
Romans 5:2 and rejoice in hope of the G of God.
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 2:24 the name of God is B____________.
For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
Mark 2:7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
