Salvation Check List

We all have Loved ones, friends, family members, random people in our lives that are lost. And we need to be able ask questions and give answers so people can go from to Lost to Saved.

Most people say they don’t share their faith because of fear, they don’t know the verses, they don’t know what to say….. ect.

We need to be taking the times back from Satan and using them for God.

Ephesians 5:16-18 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the LORD is. 18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

We can’t do 2 (knowledge of the truth) with out doing 1 (Saved):

1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

So let us learn how to find out if someone is Lost or Saved.

Christ Died for our sins = Free Gift Saved

Acts 16:30-31

30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Christ Died for our sins + Clean up your life = debt Lost

Acts 15:1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death = Hell

For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Turn from your sins + Christ Died for our sins = debt Lost

Romans 4:4-5

4Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Jesus saved only few are saved Luke 13:23-24

23Then said one unto him, LORD, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Paul said only a remnant will be saved Romans 9:27

Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

Acts 17:30-33 Some mocked, we will hear thee again, believe

30And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. 32And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter. 33So Paul departed from among them.

Acts 28:23-24 Some believed, believed not

And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God *, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. 24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

Luke 18:10-17

10Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. 15And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 17Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

1. Ask Questions

A. Ask questions to get their salvation ____testimony_____

Psalms 107:2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

1) We cannot see a person’s heart (whether they are saved or not)

2) We can only base their salvation by their testimony (what they say)

B. Do not answer the questions for them or put words in their mouth

Example: Are you sure of your salvation because of your faith in Jesus Christ?” or “Why are you sure you’re on your way to Heaven because you accepted Christ as your saviour?”

2. Ask ______Useful_______ Questions

A. Don’t ask vague questions

1) “Are you a Christian?”

2) “Are you a believer?”

3) “Are you born-again?”

4) “Have you accepted Jesus in your heart?”

5) “Do you know if you have a home in heaven?”

B. Don’t be satisfied with vague ____Answers____

Examples: Because of my faith” or “Because of Jesus” (These are examples of vague answers you may get after you’ve asked someone about where they are going when they die)

C. If they give you a vague answer—give a follow-up question

3. Ask a Sequence of Questions

A. Introduction This is how I talk to someone at the door . Invitation to Church and Giving the Gospel. Fill free to change it up .

Script: “Hi, we’re coming from Grace Believer’s Church and we just wanted to give you an invitation to church.”

B. “Do you go to church anywhere?”—This tells us about their ____Background____

C. “More important than going to church”—This tells them we’re not interested in their religion but we are more interested in their salvation

D. “If you died today do you know if you would go to Heaven?”—Our questions need to be directed towards what they ____Believe___

1) If they respond as not knowing where they are going than present the final question:

If I could show you from the Bible how you could know for sure (or be 100%) you are on your way to heaven, would you be interested in seeing it?”

2) If they respond with a vague salvation testimony

a. Seek more details:

What gives you that assurance?” or “What are you trusting in to get you to heaven?”

b. Ask about Eternal Security:

Is there anything you can do that would cause you to lose your salvation?”

Action Step: Think through how you would ask these questions to someone

Asking if they could lose their Salvation will let you know if they trust Christ alone (saved) or they are trusting something else (Lost).
