Thursday, March 17, 2022 became a day of drastic change for me. I had a stroke in the lower cerebrum of my brain.
I was sitting down, having my morning cup o’ joe when it hit! A headache, with waves of sweat, which sent me back to bed. I figured, a little bit of rest, and I’d be ready to start right back into my normal day that was planned.
But, no! It couldn’t be that easy. Now, I couldn’t swallow, and walking was now impossible!
This is one of those life changing events, which causes one to ponder over the priorities of life. As a pastor, I know, and verbalize, the great promises of Scripture, knowing the reality of the “cursed life,” brought on by the fall of the first Adam, only to be reversed by faith in the Last Adam!
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. [46] Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. [47] The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. [48] As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. – 1 Corinthians 15:45-48
There is a common phrase that is so much overused: “Let go, and let God!” Though a noble saying, for the Grace Believer, one has already let go. Sins ARE forgiven. The Lord has made us perfect, complete in Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:10).
Yet, I think, after this, it will be time to change that saying to, “Let go, and let OTHERS.”.
The marvelous mystery of the Body of Christ is that it truly functions as a unit, a complete Body, especially in the local assemb!y – all of the functionality is really on an organic basis, with each member having a direct connection to the Head – the Lord Jesus Christ!
Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, [19] And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. – Colossians 2:18-19
The bottom line: No matter what the circumstances are, as well as the changes in those circumstances, be sure to “hold the Head.” The “wonderful, matchless Grace of Jesus” reigns. It will carry you through the trials of this life, as well as carrying you unto eternity!
Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus,
deeper than the mighty rolling sea,
higher than the mountain, sparkling like a fountain,
all sufficient grace for even me;
broader than the scope of my transgressions, sing it!
greater far than all my sin and shame.
O magnify the precious name of Jesus, praise his name!

may the power of God’s word bring you comfort and peace. May your thoughts be consumed with the things above and not the circumstances of this world. thank you for sharing
