Eph.6:10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Oftentimes, strength is measured by size, or by number, or in physical abilities, and the possessors of a ’strength,’ are of a greater substance than others. And they that are possessors of this strength, are often viewed as ‘powerful’ as well, and many who lack this strength, also desire to be as the ‘strong.’ Our Father’s ‘strength,’ and “power” for His ‘sons and daughters in Christ, is of a Spiritual nature, and it is designed to work within our “inward man.” And we do not automatically possess this strength and power once we became saved, but our strengthening comes from His Holy word, this is where the “Excellency of the power” is put on display by the ‘strong in the faith.’ And as Ephesians chapter 6:10 says, the “power of His Might” is the “armor” that we are given by our Father in our battle with the adversary and the “spiritual wickedness in high places.”
2Co 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Therefore, it is the word of God that is where the power of His Might is found, and we can have this “treasure in earthen vessels” if we desire to “put on the whole armour of God.” This is how the “Excellency of the power” of God is declared unto other members of His Body, and unto the spiritual wickedness in high places as well. Because it is the adversary and his co-workers in wickedness who we who are “strong in the Lord” wrestle against. And our Father has equipped us with the “power of His Might” to thwart any, and all that the adversary could try to do get us from operating upon our Father’s word, and to “speak reproachfully” against us. This “power” is the “riches of His glory,” but far too often, we miss the significance of what our Father classifies as the “riches of His glory” for our godly edifying.
Eph.4:16] That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
[17] That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
[18] May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
[19] And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
[20] Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Furthermore, we are “strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man,” and that is how His power “worketh in us.” But as verse 19 says, this is how we are “filled with all the fulness of God.” This should be fully understood and appreciated by us, and we should say; ‘I can be filled with ALL the fulness of God?’ And ‘I can be strong in the Lord and in the POWER of His Might?’ That ought to produce a godly appreciation and rejoicing within us, this privileged provision that our Father has provided for the ‘strong in the faith’ is glorious, and extremely powerful whether we fully apprehend its value, but whether we acknowledge this “power of God” that we are provided by our Father; the adversary understands our Father’s power, and Might.
Eph.1:19] And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Finally, Satan has structured a plan to counterfeit the power of God, because when the strong in the faith operate upon the power of the Living God, Satan shall be “bruised” under our feet! Our Father knows this, Satan knows this, but oftentimes, we do not apprehend this powerful doctrine of the “Excellency of the power.” Satan wants the members of the Body of Christ to assume that the power of God is shown in intervening in our physical circumstances, physical healing, or in anything that we can see today. But these things are “weak” in our Father’s sight, and can be duplicated by man, and we might think that intervening in our physical circumstances, physical healing, and things that we see are “of power,” and that is because we place so much emphasis, and have so much love for these physical things. Satan knows that the man will find “power” in his plan, and this is because this plan centers around the man! But we are to know the true “power,” and what it truly means to be “strong in the Lord and in the power of His Might.”
