The Mechanics Of Satan’s “Power Of The Air”

Eph 2:1  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Eph 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Eph 2:3  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

First of all, there are things of this world that give Satan “power,” and man too operates upon a ‘short termed’ power and glory and reign. There are many aspects to those who operate upon a ‘power’ unto others. We look upon ants as of no power at all unto us, but they serve a Queen in a colony, and they themselves operate upon a ‘wisdom’ to store up unto themselves for the winter. And even though their power seems as it has no effect upon us, if someone goes camping, and are eating, and step away for a moment; and when they return, they find ants all over their plate, the ants have now ‘made their power known’ in our sight. And whether it is by ants outside, or if our home has become infested by insects, or rodents, things that seemed to have no power at all among us, have the ability to ‘make their power known’ in our sight. And man himself walks according to a power, and they each have their own way, and lifestyle, thinking. But this ‘power’ of the man is NOT after God who created them, it is after the one who deceived the man in the beginning.

Rom 9:22  What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

Furthermore, this short termed power allows man to live unto himself in the world that God created, it allows man to think how he desires to think about this world and life itself, and allows man to labor with his power, but most importantly, he can get other men to ‘buy into’ his power, and to now think like he does, and do things his way, and labor together with him in him, and also glory in this power. The “wiles of the devil” institutes the “power of the air,” Satan’s wiles are designed to counterfeit the will of God, and the Word of God. And by having the man operate upon his own will, thinking, and wisdom, man changes “the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator.” The power of the air is only power unto those who submit unto this form of ‘dominion.’  But in the eyes of men, this power is not of a submission, or a dominion, or that they are under the influence of another and not of their own will or power, but this is truly the case, because they are NOT of the Power of the One who created man, and this world.

Rom 1:20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Rom 1:21  Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Rom 1:22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Rom 1:23  And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Rom 1:24  Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Rom 1:25  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

And so, whether man knows or not, he is operating upon Satan’s power, but man cannot see what man has ‘undone’ years ago. Man “changed the truth of God into lie” many years ago, and today’s man lives by this “lie,” and he desires to ‘step it up’ so to speak concerning this power. He evolves concerning the power of Satan, man by his wisdom has even said also that there is no God at all. And has ‘created’ his own religion unto himself as a ‘god,’ and has other men glory in him even after his death. And this power of the air was boasted by Satan unto the Lord when he tempted Him, and man does not have to be an atheist, or worship Buddha, or be of the Hindu religion, or a ‘Satan worshipper’ religion to worship Satan, but by not worshiping God in truth, they are operating upon the power of the air, and by doing so they are worshipping and serving Satan not God.

Luk 4:4  And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Luk 4:5  And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

Luk 4:6  And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

Luk 4:7  If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

Luk 4:8  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Moreover, as we see in the verses above, the Lord just told Satan that God designed that man would live his sanctified life by the word of God alone, not by any other way. And the next thing Satan does is show him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them, in other words, Satan offers him is way for man to live his life, this way of living is satan’s power, and Satan’s glory as we see in verse 6. But today, man does not see that if he operates upon this power that he too is worshipping Satan, but more often than not, man does not see this because of “the glory of them” and the wisdom and power it brings onto him. But this power that Satan boasts of was not a lie, this power was delivered unto him when Adam gave up dominion and when he fell in the beginning. And Satan desires that man would not only worship him, but also “serve” as we see the Lord say about God’s intent in verse 8, And that it is God who man will serve and worship. And what a power does, it has others to submit unto it, and man too desires to possess power and glory, and wisdom, this is what Satan desires of the man, and when man desires these things, he is following after the power of the air, but unfortunately this power is after the attributes of Satan, and his will and “wiles,” and not “after God” whether he knows it or not.

Eph 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Eph 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Finally, power itself can oftentimes be in ‘the eye of the beholder,’ and this is the case with each power except for the Power of God, and man themselves have their own view of power itself. Some look upon power in the things that cater to our 5 senses, and as long as we lust after something enough determines whether it is a power unto us or not. And the lusts of our flesh determines what becomes a power, or what is actually weak in our sight, but as we see with God and his word, it is our desiring to be a living sacrifice, and not making provision for our flesh to fulfill the lust thereof that makes Satan’s power of the air, and his wiles weak in our sight. The power of the air is only power unto those who walk according to its course, and the ones that are under its influence to allow themselves to be “tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the slight of man, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.” But the fascinating part about the power of God is, we can allow his power to work effectually within us, but it works at a far exceeding greatness, and far above Satan’s power of the air, we can reprove and cast off his works of darkness. We can walk according to the power of his might within our inward man, this is why as we see in the verses below it is counted as treasure by the apostle Paul. But in order to do this, we must become a “living sacrifice,” and “cast off,” and “put off the old man with his deeds,” and the lust of our flesh which desire to live after, and obey, serve, and worship the law of sin, and the power of the air.

2Co 4:7  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Eph 1:18  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Eph 1:19  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
