Let us describe the method for a woman to function consistently as who she is in Christ, negotiating life’s challenges, adjusting, and living resurrection life to live Ephesians. Basically, it is knowing, dwelling, and imple-menting the sanctification process of Romans 6-8 to be holy unto God and acceptable. Then we are to walk by faith in the circumstances.
1) Know your new Identity in Christ, with responsibility to choose wisely in each situation: We can be a servant to sin and our flesh, making carnal decisions or yield unto God and His way to manifest a functional spiritual life, pleasing to God in whatever we do. There is fruit to our decisions: some unto glory and everlasting life, and others unto death. (Romans 6)
2) Be aware the flesh desires to live under the law, apart from God and His provision: Pride leads us to try in our own fleshly efforts to live and solve problems as did the Nation Israel, trying to perform righteous living. This is religion and not acceptable to God: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” (Is. 64:6) Romans 7 teaches we will fail under the law.
3. Be led by the Spirit: Choose to beopen to reflect and learn through the challenges that arise, being conformed to the image of Christ so our mind can dwell on and live sound doctrine. As we let Christ dwell in us, we develop a love motivation to use our mortal bodies to serve God. Romans 8 teaches God quickens us to bring forth resurrection life as we live and make godly choices.
To Do: Read and meditate upon Romans 6-8 to understand this process to live it in your life.
