We ought to approach day to day living with abounding motivation and purpose, yet Satan’s tactics can wear us down, sidetrack us, and plainly take the joy out of life. The Lord intimately and graciously provides us with His wisdom and power, manifesting the love and grace to respond in faith to life situations. Ephesians 5 relays warnings, but also the to dos in order to stay the course for whatever comes.
Sisters, use this process for regular, personal examination to adjust:
1) Verses 1-2: Be followers of God as His dear children, knowing He is the Father of all, and as you walk through the challenges, manifest His love as a living sacrifice, following the example of Christ who loved you.
2) Verses 6-7: Avoid two things: being deceived with vain words and being partakers with the ungodly children of disobedience.
3) Verses 8-10: Know who you are and walk as a child of light to manifest the fruit of the Spirit, proving what is acceptable with the Lord.
4) Verses 11-12: Have no fellowship with, nor speak about the works of darkness, rather reprove them, and flee from these things.
5) Verses 14-16: Stay awake and aware, walking with your eyes open, circumspectly, observant to all that is around as someone wise, redeeming the time, and not wasting this precious resource of time.
6) Verses 17-19: Be wise to know God’s will, not overcome with worldly things but filled with the Spirit, which creates an overflowing of His joy, peace and fruit of the Sprit.
7) Verses 20-21: We are to remain thankful for all things and be in submission one to another in the fear of God. Basically, prefer others above our own selves.
To Do: Read Ephesians 5 for yourself, write this process out, keeping it in front of your eyes as a remembrance of how to do this to please the Lord and have joy in your life. Of course, it’s all Christ in you so be in prayer, meditation, and daily in the Word, open to hear the Holy Spirit’s teaching you personally in your hear t. Now, be led by the Spirit by the Word in you.
