Dear ladies, we have been fully equipped, yet it often feels like we are lost in a jungle of high weeds, dangers, and sometimes grievous obstacles all around. Our spiritual armor is our protection; it is specific teaching from the Father to be built in our soul. It is to be our guide. Phil. 3:16: “Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.” This “rule” is a guidebook of instructions in our inner man to lead us in faith by the Spirit. Be renewed daily in sound doctrine; this is safe (Phil 3:1), protecting us from evil and tactics lying wait. Spend time in meditation on sound doctrine daily to stir up Truth for decisions and daily living.
We should not be lulled asleep, walk by our efforts, nor wait to call on God just for the big struggles. As we walk as women of faith, let the Spirit lead, that Christ may dwell within us. The Word humbles us (Gen. 17:1-3) and produces implicit trust and love for our Father. It takes time to internalize the outworking of our sanctification training (Rom. 6-8) to function as Christ’s in the details of life. We are God’s now, bought with a price of Christ’s blood. (I Cor, 6:19-20) We are to also remember that we have been given great spiritual provision and learn to function as perfect and complete, for our journey through this jungle of Satan’s tactics. Ephesians 1:1-14 list some. Meditate upon these; but also chapter 6:10-20 that lists our armor. This armor provides inexhaustive power to negotiate the thick weeds, enabling us to stand: “Put on the whole amour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (vs. 11) But it goes on to relay we can withstand in any evil day, as God in us wrestles against “principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (vs 12) The admonition, over and over, is to just “stand” as God does the work within us. So then, as godly women, will we trust Him to survive this present, very real jungle of challenges, moment by moment or be enticed by Satan?
To Do: Satan wants something else for us, thus we are admonished to “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.” (Rom. 13:14) Use God’s provision to avoid succumbong to the evil around us and allow the flesh to lead. We are to dwell upon spiritual things to keep focused above and stay fixed on the goal, to “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Phil, 3:14) This enables us to standfast through challenges in faith, trusting the provisions and armor of God to protect us spiritually, unto eternity. We can expect physical difficulties, calamity, and even death, but these things change nothing… “if God be for us, who can be against us?… we are more than conquerors…” (Rom. 8:31,37) So, do you really believe God is for you and always with you?
